Mexican Drug Cartel ‘Los Zetas’ Overpowers Hacker Group Anonymous?
The hacker group anonymous has been in “power” for quite some time now, being the leading group in hacking for causes and working for the “underdogs,” but just days after targeting Mexican drug cartels the group released their “retreat”, so says NYDN
“We didn’t want irresponsible administrators to condemn participants [in ‘Operation Cartel’] to death,” they told the newspaper in a statement in Spanish.
The about face comes in the wake of a report by Stratfor, a security company, that the drug cartel, Zetas, would launch violent reprisals.
“We have seen reports that Los Zetas are deploying their own teams of computer experts to track those individuals involved in the online anti-cartel campaign, which indicates that the criminal group is taking the campaign very seriously,” Stratfor tactical analyst Ben West said in a video released by the company.
Transit System Blocks Cell Phones Making Hackers Backlash
Anonymous is known for multiple hacks of government agencies as well as being the follow-up group to the previous biggest hacker group Lulz Security. Now that a San Francisco transit system enacted a new policy on a transit system that blocks all cell phone signal the group acted.
… hackers angry over blocked cell phone service at some transit stations broke into a website and posted company contact information for more than 2,000 customers.
Anonymous posted people’s names, phone numbers, and street and email addresses on its own website, while also calling for a disruption of the Bay Area Rapid Transit’s evening commute Monday.
BART officials said Sunday that they were working a strategy to try to block any efforts by protesters to try to disrupt the service.

Internet Hacker Arrested for ‘Checking too Many Books Out of The Library’
A Harvard researcher is being prosecuted for logging into databases and downloading 20 million pages on scholarly information in hopes of creating a movement towards public access to these documents without having to pay. The hacker is also known for his help in creating the RSS feed, one of the most used internet features available. The documents he downloaded are purchased by colleges and libraries, which are then available for people like him to download.
Bad Neighbors: Wi-Fi Hacker Gets 18 Years in Prison
Barry Ardolf will be serving a fat amount of time in prison for terrorizing his neighbors through their wifi network. In 2008, a signs of aggression developed between two Minnesota neighbors, beginning with one filing a police report on the other. The police report was filed because Ardolf picked up the neighbors wandering son and brought him back home, after kissing him on the lips. After the police were called on Ardolf, the computer technician, took revenge that now has him with a lengthy prison sentence.
