Robot Slithers Through Your Body, Smells Cancer
Just when we thought everything had been done, we are blown away with the innovation of the century. No longer will we have to look in different places for snakes, robots, dogs and cancer detection devices.
It stops, sniffs to the left, then turns to the right and slithers behind the ribcage.
This is a medical robot, guided by a skilled surgeon and designed to get to places doctors are unable to reach without opening a patient up.
NASA Funds Self-Building Space Ships
There’s not much left on the list of things science hasn’t done and they soon will have broken a barrier in artificial intelligence by creating space ships that can build themselves.
The space agency recently awarded $100,000 to a project called SpiderFab that aims to study this concept and ultimately produce designs for such a craft. In theory, a small vehicle could launch in a rocket carrying the raw materials needed by an onboard 3D printer. Unlike fully-assembled craft, it wouldn’t need to be designed to fold up or built to withstand the extreme forces involved in liftoff and ascent into space.
MIT & Harvard Confirm Wired Human Tissue
Science fiction is becoming less and less of a fantasy now that these two prominent colleges are promising artificial human tissue.
To create the cybernetic tissue, researchers first created a mesh of wires as small as 80 nanometers in diameter. Cell cultures were then added, and allowed to grow around the artificial wiring. So far, researchers have grown fully-wired heart and nerve tissue complexes.

Mike Senna of California spent an estimated 3,200 – 3,800 hours over two and a half years building this full-scale, functional WALL-E robot from scratch.
Japan Makes Realistic Robotic Butt
Japan has always been on the cutting edge of sex products. Whether they be slightly disturbing pornos, robot prostitutes or BDSM accessories, they have it. The newest of their sexy creations includes this robot ass.
This is a robotic buttocks created by the University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo to receive stimulation, and to respond via its artificial muscles to express the emotion it feels. What this will contribute to science is still unclear.
