Japanese Soccer Ball Lost In Tsunami Washes Up On Alaskan Shore

Everyone has been concerned about radiation coming from the damaged Japanese power plant and reaching California over seas, but so far all we’ve seen is sports equipment.
Officials from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration say the ball with the youngster’s name inscribed on it is one of the first pieces of debris from last year’s tsunami to wash up on the other side of the Pacific.
A man found the ball while beachcombing on an Alaskan island, and his wife, who is Japanese, talked with its owner, 16-year-old Misaki Murakami, by phone over the weekend. They plan to send the ball back to him soon.

Lady Gaga has been making the headlines again and again since March 11 with her support for the Japanese people. Her bracelet sales online which sold $5 bands (and claimed all revenue were donated to the Japanese) has her in hot water as there are claims being made about how much money Gaga, herself, is making off of the sales.
